Candy AI vs OurDream: the real question is spending behaviour
Both services offer visual AI companions and paid media tools, but their units are not interchangeable. Candy AI talks about a subscription plus tokens. OurDream publishes a subscription allowance and a particularly useful Dreamcoin tariff. If you know you will request pictures, clips or calls regularly, the latter provides enough published numbers to build a budget. That does not prove its artistic output is better, and it does not prove Candy AI is more expensive: Candy’s per-action price varies by workflow and is not established uniformly in the official documents reviewed.
Start with what each subscription includes
Candy AI’s Help Center says paid users receive unlimited chat and 100 tokens per month. Those tokens can be consumed by image creation, video, custom AI creation, voice messages, beta calls and certain locked content. The service does not promise that 100 tokens equal 100 images. Yearly subscribers still receive token allowances monthly, rather than the whole year’s allocation at once.
OurDream’s July 2026 Standard plan document advertises US$19.99 monthly, with 1,000 Dreamcoins immediately and 1,000 each following billing month. Its annual option is US$119.88 paid upfront (marketed as US$9.99 a month equivalent) and includes an initial 2,000 coins, then 1,000 on subsequent monthly anniversaries. Note the potential confusion: the annual plan is not a US$9.99 monthly charge.

Worked usage examples—not a claim about identical output
Using OurDream’s published tariff, 40 standard images arranged as 20 pairs use 200 Dreamcoins. Ten minutes of calls use 500 coins. Two standard five-second videos use 200 coins. That sample month totals 900 coins, leaving 100 of a 1,000-coin monthly allocation for other charged actions. Switch to a different video tool or premium chat model and the calculation changes. Some features consume coins even while basic subscriber chat does not.
There is no responsible Candy AI equivalent without verifying the current token charge per chosen tool. A fair comparison would record the in-account quote for 40 images, 10 call minutes and 10 seconds of video, then compare the final total and output quality. Multiplying ‘100 tokens’ by an assumed image cost would manufacture a false price comparison.
The image workflow matters as much as the allowance
Candy AI may appeal to someone who mainly browses ready-made characters and occasionally asks for an image or spoken response. Its official token guide also refers to converting an eligible in-chat image into a video, which is different from pricing every conceivable video workflow. OurDream offers a documented tariff for images, video editing, narration and model upgrades, making it easier to decide whether a particular feature deserves your budget.
Neither provider’s promotional gallery is a controlled comparison. A sensible trial uses the same non-explicit prompt, the same aspect ratio and the same character-description constraints. Evaluate identity consistency across a short set of images, artifacts around hands and clothing, and whether the product credits visibly decrease as expected. An appealing single promotional image is not proof of repeatable quality.
UK buying checks before a discounted plan
If you are paying from the UK, check the full GBP amount on the final payment screen, not an unofficial currency conversion of a dollar offer. Record introductory price, renewal amount, billing interval and whether VAT or a card-provider foreign-transaction fee is added. A year paid upfront is a bigger commitment even when its displayed monthly equivalent looks low. For both products, confirm how to cancel and what happens to unused virtual currency when subscription access ends; do not assume the currencies operate alike.
Verdict
Start with OurDream if you want a numerical monthly media budget: the dated Standard/Dreamcoin documentation makes that task possible. Consider Candy AI if its character selection and style appeal more than detailed coin modelling and you expect mostly text with occasional extras. There is no defensible overall winner on image quality or total regional price without matched account tests and real checkout quotes.
